Inviting your team
Add teammates to your organization and assign roles.
StatusOwl is built for teams. Every organization can have multiple members, each with a role that controls what they can see and change. There are five roles — the short version below is enough to invite someone; for the full capability matrix see Roles & permissions.
Roles at a glance
- Owner — Founder of the organization. Full access, including billing, deleting the org, and transferring ownership.
- Admin — Manage monitors, integrations, status pages, members, and billing. Cannot delete the organization.
- Billing — Manage the subscription, payment method, and invoices. Read-only for everything else.
- Member — Manage monitors, integrations, and status pages. Cannot manage members or billing.
- Viewer — Read-only access to dashboards.
See Roles & permissions for the full per-action matrix.
Sending an invite
- Go to Organization → Members.
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter the email address and select a role.
- Click Send Invite. The invitee receives an email with a one-click accept link.
Member limits per plan
The number of members an organization can hold depends on its plan: Free 2, Starter 5, Team 15, Pro unlimited. The current count vs. limit is shown at the top of the Members page. Revoking an invitation or removing a member frees a slot immediately.
Managing members
From the Members page you can change a member's role or remove them from the organization. Removed members immediately lose access to all dashboards and stop receiving alert emails. The current Owner's role can't be changed from this page — to hand the org over to someone else, see Transferring ownership.
